This is a full bodied, richer style of merlot. Typical Hunter earthiness gives and complexity leads to a long finish. An elegant merlot with serious weight! This wine is warm plum red in colour . Aromatic, stewed plums and chocolate on the nose with herbaceous mulberry leaves. 12 months in fermentation in American oak has provided this Merlot with spicy cinnamon and chocolate flavours, whilst 30 % French oak fermentation has contributed warm cedar and vanilla characters. Ripe plums are complemented with blackcurrants on the palate.
