The soil is extremely thin, chalky, high in calcium and yield the lightest most delicate wines. Nice aromas of red berries and violets, and some pepper.A young Volnay Clos des Chênes will be perfect with poultry or roasted meat.

Good earthy nose with a hint of spice. Lovely fruit in the mouth. Creamy texture with a moreish finish. Excellent now and will improve more with cellaring up to 2020.
