The 'terroir' found in the village of Montigny isn't considered classic because of its small size and unusual mix with peebly top soil, but the Pelles believe this enhances its typical rich Sauvignon Blanc characters. Pungent fresh grassy aromas mingle with riper citrus-style fruits, rounder and fuller in the mouth but nevertheless finishing with a pure intensity and zippiness that you'd expect in classy Sancerre.
