A rich violet with a lovely purple hue. Red berry fruit characters abound with spice, mint, blackcurrants and plum. Faint cedar and cigar box elements are evident from the barrel maturation. A wine of mouth filling generosity which is powerful yet soft and welcoming. Lifted berry fruit characters from the Merlot are complimented with a minty note from the Cabernet. The palate is long, round and rich yet quite approachable with enough long fine tannins to provide a classy finish. A truly great value wine. Ideal with a gourmet BBQ or any good red meat dish such as spicy sausages, lamb or some of the milder game meats - duck would be excellent.
