We’ve tasted this
Rich and textural, a lovely expression of St Aubin from Domaine Berthelemot's most recent vineyard acquisitions.
Hand harvested Chardonnay from vines planted in 1990. The parcel is just over a third of a hectare with limestone soil and marl peppered with sharp stones, the 'dents de chien'. Fermented in oak barrels, 25% new, the malo follows naturally in the spring and the wine stays on its lees until bottling in June.
Reflecting the warmth of the 2019 vintage, this is already approachable and complete with forward ripe fruit, depth and richness from the oak and a complex, full palate balanced with some saline freshness on the finish.
Pair with free-range roast chicken, turbot in a cream sauce
