The Vineyard
The selected vineyards for our Stodden Pinot Noir and Pinot Noir "J" and
Pinot Noir "JS" are steep and hillside locations. The orientation of
the locations is south and south-east. The soils are a mixture of sand
and loam, sometimes with a very high proportion of stone. This wine is a
blend from vineyard sites in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, Dernau and Rech.
The handpicked grapes were left on their skins for 14 days, malolactic
fermentation, took place in old 1000 litre oak casks, where the wine was
also left to mature.
