Stout

A dark style of beer, sometimes known as Porter made from highly roasted malts giving almost black beers. There are seven distinct styles of stout: Milk stout, a sweet style, Irish stout or dry stout, most famous being Guinness, Porter made with roasted malted barley, Oatmeal stout made with 30% roast oats, Oyster stout used to be made with a few oysters in the barrel, but these days they merely suggest it would be a good drink with oysters. Chocolate stout, made sometimes with addition of chocolate flavouring but more often with highly roasted aromatic malts.And finally Imperial stout, very dark and over 9% alcohol. Now the most popular style from the American craft brewers.
