Off the back of my amazing trip to California, we bring you a mixed case of dreamy Californian wines to give you a flavour of the wine making regions, Napa Valley and Lodi.
The Trefethen winery produces some of the finest value for money from Napa I have ever tasted and whilst they are definitely not cheap, they are way better than some other wines we tasted whilst out there. The Dragon's Tooth is for me the definition of what California can offer. A big, bold blend of Merlot, Cabernet and Malbec which results in an unbeleivably rounded, complex but beautiful, smooth and silky glass of wine.
Whilst California is definitely more renowned for it's production of red wines and maybe Chardonnay, more and more wineries are producing quality from other varieties such as Riesling, Grenache Blanc and the Graciano, from Spanish varietal expert, Bokisch is a very exciting wine.
Klinker Brick in Lodi are producing some of the best Zinfandel in the region and again the value for money they offer was untouchable.
