Nozeco Spumante 200ml

Despite its name, Nozeco has no origins in prosecco, being made apparently from de-alcoholised Spanish wine.  But it’s well engineered, and it captures the underlying taste of apples found in many proseccos.  This is well balanced with a lemony acidity achieved by simply adding citric acid.  Otherwise all that has been added is some carbonation to give it a is good strong (possibly too strong) fizz.  Oh, and some flavourings, that some complain offend the tongue (chewing gum has been mentioned).  So this is not a sophisticated drink but it is perfectly drinkable, light on the tongue, not overly sweet and not watery.  Which at about £3.50 a bottle is perfectly fair.  And at only 20 Kcal per 100 ml, it is light in every way.

However, what Nozeco is perfect for is making an Aperol Spritz – see our recipe.  The addition of the sophisticated flavours of the Aperol to this bubbly base makes a delicious long cocktail with circa 3% ABV that will be the talk of the party.
