This wine is actually of a quality level that the winery would normally reserve for a higher price tag, but we really wanted it to complete the Recoleta range with a serious, full-bodied red. The purple colour is a clear indication of the aromas and flavours to come; dark! This is a surprisingly robust, chunky red from Argentina’s most under-rated varietal. This is not the same grape as the Bonarda we know from from Italy; it is actually Corbeau, originally from the Jura in France. How it came to be known as Bonarda, who knows, who cares? Just a great little wine.

Fresh fruity and delicious. Fresh red fruit on the nose. Plum, raspberries and blueberry fruit on the palate. Good structure and length. Versatile food wine that would work well with seasoned red meat.
